火锅 Hotpot

This week i'm going to introduce the old Beijing style hotpot. In fact, it looks much more tasty than this, but this is the best I can find for now :(

Hot pot is a traditional Chinese meal that's just as fun as it is delicious. When you go out for a hot pot dinner, your table is converted into a stove, and a pot of spicy broth is brought out to boil. Then, you can choose from a variety of meats, vegetables, and noodles to cook for yourself, right at your table. For anyone visiting Beijing, a stop on the legendary Ghost Street for hot pot is absolutely essential.

北京烤鸭 Peking Duck

This week I'm going to introduce one of my favorite dish - Peking Duck.

Peking duck is a famous duck dish from Beijing that has been prepared since the imperial era, and is now considered a national dish of China.
The dish is prized for the thin, crisp skin, with authentic versions of the dish serving mostly the skin and little meat, sliced in front of the diners by the cook. Ducks bred specially for the dish are slaughtered after 65 days and seasoned before being roasted in a closed or hung oven. The meat is eaten with pancakesscallion, andhoisin sauce or sweet bean sauce.
